Photo Enforcement Ticket in Washington?
June 18th, 2009 Filed Under Traffic
The Rosen Law Firm is filing a lawsuit against many Washington cities as well as the companies that operate red light and speed zone cameras in Washington. If you have paid for a photo enforcement ticket in Washington, they may be interested in representing you and trying to get your money back. They are willing to do so at no cost to you. Follow this link to find out how they might be able to help.
UPDATE: This case has been removed to Federal Court. From the Rosen Firm:
PLEASE NOTE – We are actively pursuing this case, but we no longer need additional representative plaintiffs. If you have been cited with a camera ticket, or you have previously paid such a ticket, you will automatically be a member of the class we are attempting to certify. If we are successful in our suit, a procedure will be established to contact you and potentially issue you a refund at some point in the future. Please be patient, as we expect that this case will take many years to reach its conclusion. From KIRO

I have just recently received a citation dating back to april 25th 2009 with a payment due on 05/19/2009. today is 06/28/2009. i have been studying the washington state laws on photo enforcement trying to figure out what to do when i go into the courthouse. i am deploying to afghanistan on the 2nd of july and don’t have time for this. its absurd and unfair for me to legally be able to keep my florida residence while stationed and living at fort lewis and to receive this citation 2 months after the occurence. more than likely i have a bench warrant for my arrest, right? Anyway, my wife has general and a slew of special power of attornies and can assist you in any way if you’re interested in adding me to the list of citations for your ongoing suit with the state or cities of washington.
I got three of those in my name one of it i actually caused speeding in a school zone. i was in lakewood on 100th street and was going about 25miles when it was taken anyway when i asked for a court date they said i couldnt set one up because this was considered a parking ticket, so why dont they charge as much as parking ticket.anyway the other two was from the person i gave the car to but i paid on both anyway cause it was in my name. so please help me represent me and my friends from work they have a few themselves and we been discussing it trying to figure out how to get atleast some money back. well thanks
I was not driving at the time of the photo ticket. But, I have received threats of putting this on my credit report.
I would love to protest the ticket I got – these cameras are illegal. We are (or used to be) guaranteed an opportunity to confront our accusers in a court of law …
BTW – the link in this post doesn’t lead anywhere – I would be interested in finding out if I can get a refund of the $124 ticket I am about to pay to the City of Seattle
My husband was mailed a traffic ticket to our previous address. Not knowing he even had a ticket resulted in a FTA bench warrant for his arrest(that’s how we became aware of the ticket). An Ephrata police officer, and A Soap Lake police officer used me to entrap my husband at the emergency room. Is the police officers actions lawful?
By the way, my injuries that I was in the emergency room for, were caused by the Soap Lake police officer in Grant County Washington.
Both my husband & I received a FIFE WA phote stop light ticket – viewed the video & shows that my car did come to a stop before turning right. Please add us to your list
These tickets are ridiculous – I just got my second one – for going 28 in a 30 mph zone – because I was within 300 feet of a marked school crosswalk and I should have been going 20. They are really grasping at straws here. The first one just as trumped – these need to be stopped. Hope you can help.
