I have just recently received a citation dating back to april 25th 2009 with a payment due on 05/19/2009. today is 06/28/2009. i have been studying the washington state laws on photo enforcement trying to figure out what to do when i go into the courthouse. i am deploying to afghanistan on the 2nd of july and don’t have time for this. its absurd and unfair for me to legally be able to keep my florida residence while stationed and living at fort lewis and to receive this citation 2 months after the occurence. more than likely i have a bench warrant for my arrest, right? Anyway, my wife has general and a slew of special power of attornies and can assist you in any way if you’re interested in adding me to the list of citations for your ongoing suit with the state or cities of washington.

I was not driving at the time of the photo ticket. But, I have received threats of putting this on my credit report.

I would love to protest the ticket I got – these cameras are illegal. We are (or used to be) guaranteed an opportunity to confront our accusers in a court of law …

BTW – the link in this post doesn’t lead anywhere – I would be interested in finding out if I can get a refund of the $124 ticket I am about to pay to the City of Seattle

My husband was mailed a traffic ticket to our previous address. Not knowing he even had a ticket resulted in a FTA bench warrant for his arrest(that’s how we became aware of the ticket). An Ephrata police officer, and A Soap Lake police officer used me to entrap my husband at the emergency room. Is the police officers actions lawful?
By the way, my injuries that I was in the emergency room for, were caused by the Soap Lake police officer in Grant County Washington.

These tickets are ridiculous – I just got my second one – for going 28 in a 30 mph zone – because I was within 300 feet of a marked school crosswalk and I should have been going 20. They are really grasping at straws here. The first one just as trumped – these need to be stopped. Hope you can help.

I got a ticket for speeding in a Lynnwood school zone at 10:00am. I don’t know how big the zone is but there is no school around nor 20mph school zone signs.

Like the husband and wife in the previous post, I too received a photo ticket from the city of Fife. Even though the video clearly shows that I stopped. Apparently the official who signed my ticket also has visual problems as my adress was incorrect

Fife – will Never visit that town again. I got one of these petty tickets, after coming to a complete stop at one of there profiled intersections. When I first got the ticket my reaction was, I must have really screwed up and blown through a RED LIGHT. Upon viewing the video I could not believe they were serious. My front tires touched the empty crosswalk. God forgive me, meanwhile, my cars been broken into with over 3,000 worth of tools taken, my nephew was brutally beaten and left for dead, and I can go on & on but whats the point? I am feeling very bullied by petty crap that is abusive in nature.

This is very interesting. I just got a ticket from the city of Fife. We immediately went to the http://www.photonotice.com. and it clearly shows us stopping before making the right turn. It was at the intersection of 54th. Ave. and 20th. in Fife. We were only there because we had gone the wrong way on the freeway after stopping at the rest stop heading S. from Seattle (which was very poorly marked) and had to turn around. We are planning on contesting this which means a hearing in Fife when we live in Ptld. Has anyone had any luck in contesting this. It sound like a lot of people have been nailed with the same thing while traveling through Fife.

hi everybody I just want to know everybody that I went to City on/6/5/10Council of Bellevue and I ask about
    photo enforcement .

    I tell them
According State law, traffic infraction case does not begin, and there is no
presumption that an infraction was committed ,until ticked on an approved
from is issued by police officer.
This is violation of State the camera
company have been improperly collecting and Splitting million of dollars by mailing what amounts to fake tickets.

the $124.00 fine imposed on citizen of Bellevue violated specifying that automated ticket shall not exceed the
the amount of fine issued for other parking infractions with the jurisdiction, general parking fine are
    between $25.00and $ 50.00 in each jurisdiction.

I receive letter from Police dept say
that commissioned Police Officer reviews each video that is captured by the camera. If the Police Officer determines
that a violation did in fact occur, they authorize the issuance of an infraction
    notice of that ticket.

about the $124.00 fine they says that
our parking violations range from $124 for overtime parking to $450 for parking in a handicapped space.the $124 fine for camera violation is on the lower end of that range.

I got a speeding ticket about two weeks ago. I was driving in Lynnwood when I came up to a school zone, now the school zone sign wasn’t flashing but there was a crosswalk zone that had flashing lights, and I assumed the reason why those lights were flashing was because of the fact it was a crosswalk and you should watch out for pedestrians.

But what I didn’t realize was under the school zone sign in very small print, it was meant that when the crosswalk signs are flashing, its considered a school zone. It was 11:15 AM and there was no one in sight but I still got ticketed in the mail.

I forgot to mention this earlier but the speed limit through that area is 30 mph and of course when its a school zone its 20 mph. I was going 31 mph and I had three other cars around me doing the same speed limit.

I do understand I am at fault and I will have to pay the $124 ticket, but it just frustrates me that I got in trouble for a poorly set up school zone, I guess you could say.

Also, will this go on my record even though they have no idea who was driving the car?

    FIFE 54th Ave. & 20th St.

I received a ticket in the mail for “running a red” light on a right turn on red June 9.

I am contesting this because the video and photo show me at a stop in the first frame. The second frame, the vehicle mph shows 10 mph- 3 seconds later. If I had been traveling 10 mph for the 3 seconds the car would have traveled almost 45 feet, but the photo shows I have moved less than one car length (~15 feet) in three seconds. I will repost after the hearing.

I thought this photo enforcement was for “running a red light”? I feel like I live in Mexico or Italy… “here’s your ticket, but if you pay right now $124, it won’t go on your record…” if you don’t pay, you have to take time out of your schedule to attend a hearing and prove your innocence… smacks of corruption/mafia style intimidation.

Mike who got the ticket in fife at 54th and 20th. My mother’s car got the exact type of ticket…my speed was logged as 12 mph..my car only traveled about 12 feet in 2.06 seconds..about 4 mph…there was a second vehicle in the picture that traveled the 35 feet…guess what….that’s 12 mph!! email me..gsd22@yahoo.com

The washington state safety camera laws, RCW46.63.170: States that these photos should not be used other than the explicit purposes of enforcing the law.

They post these photos on a >.COM web site. To me, that means they they are performing E-Commerce on public web sites that are not secure socket layer web sites. Technically they should be posting these on a secure socket layer >.Gov Web site. Otherwise, they are technically performing E-commerce, which is another point that Rosen Law Firm can bring up in their class action law suit. I see other cities are posting these photos on .com web sites.
