“We have Bigfoot in a freezer.” So says the new Bigfoot hunters. Bloggers thought the story didn’t smell right. And guess what? They were right. As the Bigfoot hoax will be revealed in the coming days, bloggers have already called them out. Yet big press is still being bestowed on these liars. So far, Fox news (if you consider that news) and New York Times have both dedicated some ink that reads as though this might be possible. Why mention it here? Two reasons.

First, the news agencies have been chasing the tail of the bloggers for the last couple years. Why in the world would they give this story even a shred of credibility. The fact checking by the bloggers turned this story out within hours of the first claim. Time to get with the program.

Second, the person perpetuating this story is a Sheriff’s Deputy. He has testified numerous times over the last 6 years. In doing so he has looked twelve people in the eye, the same way he stares into the eyes of dozens of press reporters, here. That jury has counted on him to tell truth, not make up stories. Shocking and shameful.

It is worth noting that the Bigfoot hunters sought a medical expert. Perhaps the only thing more compelling than Police Officer testimony is what? That is right, scientific evidence. This hoax was uncovered within hours. The medical expert was the brother to Sheriff Deputy Whitton. Carry on.
